ਓਟਾਵਾ : ਓਨਟਾਰੀਓ ਦੇ ਸਡਬਰੀ ਤੋਂ ਸੈਨੇਟਰ ਜੋਸੀ ਫੌਰੈਸਟ-ਨੀਜ਼ਿੰਗ ਦਾ 56 ਸਾਲ ਦੀ ਉਮਰ ’ਚ ਕੋਰੋਨਾ ਕਾਰਨ ਦੇਹਾਂਤ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ। ਜੋਸੀ ਫੌਰੈਸਟ-ਨੀਜ਼ਿੰਗ ਦੇ ਦਫ਼ਤਰ ਨੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਹਸਪਤਾਲ ਦਾਖ਼ਲ ਸਨ ਤੇ ਪਿਛਲੇ ਸ਼ਨੀਵਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਹੀ ਹਸਪਤਾਲ ’ਚੋਂ ਛੁੱਟੀ ਹੋਣ ਮਗਰੋਂ ਉਹ ਘਰ ਪਰਤੇ ਸਨ।
ਜੋਸੀ ਨੇ ਕੋਰੋਨਾ ਵੈਕਸੀਨ ਦੇ ਦੋਵੇਂ ਟੀਕੇ ਲਗਵਾਏ ਹੋਏ ਸਨ, ਪਰ ਪਿਛਲੇ 15 ਸਾਲਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਫੇਫੜਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਗੰਭੀਰ ਬਿਮਾਰੀ ਕਾਰਨ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਹਾਲਤ ਨਾਜ਼ੁਕ ਬਣੀ ਹੋਈ ਸੀ, ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਚਲਦਿਆਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਮੌਤ ਹੋ ਗਈ। ਸੈਨੇਟਰ ਦੇ ਦੇਹਾਂਤ ’ਤੇ ਕੈਨੇਡਾ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਜਸਟਿਨ ਟਰੂਡੋ ਨੇ ਡੂੰਘਾ ਦੁਖ ਪ੍ਰਗਟ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ।

ਸੈਨੇਟ ਦੇ ਸਪੀਕਰ ਜਾਰਜ ਜੇ. ਫੁਰੇ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਜਾਣ ਕੇ ਬਹੁਤ ਦੁੱਖ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਜੋਸੀ ਫੌਰੈਸਟ-ਨੀਜ਼ਿੰਗ ਨਹੀਂ ਰਹੇ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਜੋਸੀ ਸੈਨੇਟਰ ਹੋਣ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ-ਨਾਲ ਇੱਕ ਉੱਘੇ ਵਕੀਲ ਵੀ ਸਨ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਫਰੈਂਚ ਭਾਸ਼ਾ ’ਚ ਸੇਵਾਵਾਂ ਮੁਹੱਈਆ ਕਰਵਾਉਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਲਾਅ ਫਰਮ ’ਚ ਲਗਭਗ 20 ਸਾਲ ਲਾਅ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰੈਕਟਿਸ ਕੀਤੀ ਸੀ। ਸਮਾਜ ਭਲਾਈ ਦੇ ਕੰਮਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੀ ਵਧ ਚੜ ਕੇ ਯੋਗਦਾਨ ਪਾ ਰਹੇ ਸੀ।
