ਲੰਦਨ: ਲਿਜ਼ ਟਰਸ ਨੂੰ ਬ੍ਰਿਟੇਨ ਦਾ ਨਵਾਂ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਚੁਣ ਲਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਭਾਰਤੀ ਮੂਲ ਦੇ ਸਾਬਕਾ ਵਿੱਤ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਰਿਸ਼ੀ ਸੁਨਕ ਨੂੰ ਸਖ਼ਤ ਮੁਕਾਬਲੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਮਾਤ ਦੇ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਹੈ। ਲਿਜ਼ ਟਰਸ ਨੂੰ 81326 ਵੋਟਾਂ ਮਿਲੀਆਂ ਜਦਕਿ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਵਿਰੋਧੀ ਰਿਸ਼ੀ ਸੁਨਕ ਨੂੰ 60399 ਵੋਟਾਂ ਮਿਲੀਆਂ।
ਰਿਸ਼ੀ ਸੁਨਕ ਪਹਿਲੇ ਪੰਜ ਗੇੜਾਂ ‘ਚ ਅੱਗੇ ਰਹੇ, ਪਰ ਕੰਜ਼ਰਵੇਟਿਵ ਪਾਰਟੀ ਦੇ ਮੈਂਬਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਅੰਤਿਮ ਵੋਟਿੰਗ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਲਿਜ਼ ਟਰਸ ਜਿੱਤ ਗਈ। ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਚੋਣਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਾਬਕਾ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਬੋਰਿਸ ਜਾਨਸਨ ਨੇ ਲਿਜ਼ ਟਰਸ ਦਾ ਖੁੱਲ੍ਹ ਕੇ ਸਮਰਥਨ ਕੀਤਾ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਪਾਰਟੀ ਮੈਂਬਰਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਸੰਸਦ ਮੈਂਬਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਲਿਜ਼ ਟਰਸ ਨੂੰ ਵੋਟ ਪਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਵੀ ਕਿਹਾ।
ਬੋਰਿਸ ਜੌਹਨਸਨ ਦਾ ਦੋਸ਼ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਰਿਸ਼ੀ ਸੁਨਕ ਦੇ ਅਸਤੀਫੇ ਕਾਰਨ ਹੀ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਦੀ ਕੁਰਸੀ ਗੁਆਉਣੀ ਪਈ ਸੀ। ਲਿਜ਼ ਟ੍ਰਸ ਹੁਣ 7 ਸਤੰਬਰ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਵਜੋਂ ਬਰਤਾਨਵੀ ਸੰਸਦ ਵਿੱਚ ਹਾਜ਼ਰ ਹੋਣਗੀ।

ਲਿਜ਼ ਟ੍ਰਸ ਦੀ ਜਿੱਤ ‘ਤੇ ਸਾਬਕਾ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਬੋਰਿਸ ਜੌਹਨਸਨ ਨੇ ਟਵੀਟ ਕਰਕੇ ਵਧਾਈ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਹੈ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਟਵੀਟ ਕਰ ਲਿਖਿਆ, ‘ਟ੍ਰਸ ਨੂੰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਜਿੱਤ ‘ਤੇ ਵਧਾਈ। ਮੈਂ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਕਿ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕੋਲ ਹਰ ਸਥਿਤੀ ਨਾਲ ਨਜਿੱਠਣ ਲਈ, ਪਾਰਟੀ ਨੂੰ ਅਤੇ ਸਾਡੇ ਦੇਸ਼ ਨੂੰ ਇਕਜੁੱਟ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਸਹੀ ਯੋਜਨਾ ਹੈ। ਹੁਣ ਸਮਾਂ ਆ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਸਾਰੇ ਕੰਜ਼ਰਵੇਟਿਵ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ 100 ਫੀਸਦੀ ਸਾਥ ਦੇਣ।’
