ਸੋਰਠਿ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥

ਮੇਰਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਰਖਵਾਲਾ ਹੋਆ ॥

ਧਾਰਿ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਹਾਥ ਦੇ ਰਾਖਿਆ ਹਰਿ ਗੋਵਿਦੁ ਨਵਾ ਨਿਰੋਆ॥੧॥ਰਹਾਉ॥

ਤਾਪੁ ਗਇਆ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਆਪਿ ਮਿਟਾਇਆ ਜਨ ਕੀ ਲਾਜ ਰਖਾਈ ॥

ਸਾਧਸੰਗਤਿ ਤੇ ਸਭ ਫਲ ਪਾਏ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਬਲਿ ਜਾਂਈ ॥੧॥

ਹਲਤੁ ਪਲਤੁ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਦੋਵੈ ਸਵਾਰੇ ਹਮਰਾ ਗੁਣੁ ਅਵਗੁਣੁ ਨ ਬੀਚਾਰਿਆ ॥

ਅਟਲ ਬਚਨੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਗੁਰ ਤੇਰਾ ਸਫਲ ਕਰੁ ਮਸਤਕਿ ਧਾਰਿਆ ॥੨॥੨੧॥੪੯॥

ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਵਿਆਖਿਆ

ਅਰਥ: ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਮੇਰਾ ਗੁਰੂ (ਮੇਰਾ) ਸਹਾਈ ਬਣਿਆ ਹੈ, (ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸ਼ਰਨ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ) ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕਰ ਕੇ (ਆਪਣੇ) ਹੱਥ ਦੇ ਕੇ (ਬਾਲਕ ਹਰਿ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਨੂੰ) ਬਚਾ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ, (ਹੁਣ ਬਾਲਕ) ਹਰਿ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਬਿਲਕੁਲ ਰਾਜ਼ੀ-ਬਾਜ਼ੀ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ।੧।

(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਬਾਲਕ ਹਰਿ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਦਾ) ਤਾਪ ਲਹਿ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ, ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਆਪ ਉਤਾਰਿਆ ਹੈ, ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਸੇਵਕ ਦੀ ਇੱਜ਼ਤ ਰੱਖ ਲਈ ਹੈ। ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਤੋਂ (ਮੈਂ) ਸਾਰੇ ਫਲ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕੀਤੇ ਹਨ, ਮੈਂ (ਸਦਾ) ਗੁਰੂ ਤੋਂ (ਹੀ) ਕੁਰਬਾਨ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ।੧।

(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ ਜੇਹੜਾ ਭੀ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਪੱਲਾ ਫੜੀ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦਾ) ਇਹ ਲੋਕ ਤੇ ਪਰਲੋਕ ਦੋਵੇਂ ਹੀ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਸਵਾਰ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਅਸਾਂ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦਾ ਕੋਈ ਗੁਣ ਜਾਂ ਔਗੁਣ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਚਿੱਤ ਵਿਚ ਨਹੀਂ ਰੱਖਦਾ। ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਆਖ) ਹੇ ਗੁਰੂ! ਤੇਰਾ (ਇਹ) ਬਚਨ ਕਦੇ ਟਲਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਨਹੀਂ (ਕਿ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਹੀ ਜੀਵ ਦਾ ਲੋਕ ਪਰਲੋਕ ਵਿਚ ਰਾਖਾ ਹੈ)। ਹੇ ਗੁਰੂ! ਤੂੰ ਆਪਣਾ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੱਥ (ਅਸਾਂ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੇ) ਮੱਥੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈਂ।੨।੨੧।੪੯।

Translation In English

O brother! My Guru has become (my) helper, (with the blessing of Guru’s refuge) the Lord has graciously saved (the child Hari Gobind) by (His) hand, (now the child) Hari Gobind has come to an absolute agreement Is.

(O brother, the child of Hari Gobind) the heat is gone, the Lord Himself has taken it down, the Lord has kept the honor of His servant. O brother! From the Guru’s Sangat (I) have obtained all the fruits , I (always) become a sacrifice to the Guru.

(O brother, whoever holds the Lord’s skirt, his) God rides both this world and the next, we do not keep in mind any virtue or vice of the beings. O Nanak! Say -) O Guru! Thy (this) word is never to be avoided (that God alone is the protector of the creature in the world to come). O Guru! You place your blessed hand on the forehead of (us beings).
