ਵੈਨਕੂਵਰ: ਕੈਨੇਡਾ ‘ਚ ਦੁਪਹਿਰ ਬਾਰਾਂ ਵਜੇ ਤੋਂ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਦੇਰ ਸ਼ਾਮ 8 ਕੁ ਵਜੇ ਤੱਕ ਵੈਨਕੂਵਰ ਇਲਾਕੇ ਦਾ ਮਸ਼ਹੂਰ ਐਲੇਕਸ ਫਰੇਜ਼ਰ ਬਰਿੱਜ ਉਸ ਵੇਲੇ ਬੰਦ ਰਿਹਾ ਜਦੋਂ ਇੱਕ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਨੌਜਵਾਨ ਉਥੋਂ ਛਾਲ ਮਾਰਨ ਲਈ ਪਹੁੰਚਿਆ।
ਮਿਲੀ ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਮੁਤਾਬਕ ਨੌਜਵਾਨ ਘਰੇਲੂ ਝਗੜੇ ਤੋਂ ਪਰੇਸ਼ਾਨ ਸੀ, ਜਿਸ ਕਾਰਨ ਉਹ ਖੁਦਕੁਸ਼ੀ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਬਰਿੱਜ ‘ਤੇ ਪਹੁੰਚ ਗਿਆ। ਦੱਸਿਆ ਜਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਉਸ ਵਲੋਂ ਸੋਸ਼ਲ ਮੀਡੀਆ ‘ਤੇ ਇੱਕ ਖ਼ੁਦਕੁਸ਼ੀ ਨੋਟ ਵੀ ਸਾਂਝਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ।
ਇਸ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਬਰਿੱਜ ਦੀ ਆਵਾਜਾਈ ਵੀ ਰੋਕ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਗਈ ਤੇ ਹਜ਼ਾਰਾਂ ਲੋਕ ਉਦੋਂ ਤੱਕ ਬਰਿੱਜ ਦੇ ਦੋਵੇਂ ਪਾਸੇ ਟ੍ਰੈਫ਼ਿਕ `ਚ ਫਸੇ ਰਹੇ, ਜਦੋਂ ਤੱਕ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਵਲੋਂ ਨੌਜਵਾਨ ਨੂੰ ਖੁਦਕੁਸ਼ੀ ਨਾਂ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਮਨਾ ਲਿਆ ਗਿਆ।
