ਵੈਨਕੂਵਰ : ਕੈਨੇਡਾ ਦੇ ਵੈਨਕੂਵਰ ‘ਚ ਸਥਿਤ ਕਾਮਾਗਾਟਾਮਾਰੂ ਘਟਨਾ ਦੀ ਯਾਦਗਾਰ ’ਤੇ ਕਿਸੇ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਨੇ ਚਿੱਟਾ ਰੰਗ ਫੇਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਨਸਲੀ ਹਮਲੇ ਦੀ ਇਸ ਘਟਨਾ ਨੂੰ ਘਿਨਾਉਣੀ ਕਰਾਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਕਾਰਨ ਪੰਜਾਬੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਲੂੰਧਰੇ ਗਏ।
ਇਸ ਘਟਨਾ ‘ਤੇ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਭਾਈਚਾਰੇ ਦਾ ਕਹਿਣਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਕੈਨੇਡਾ ਵਰਗੇ ਮੁਲਕ ‘ਚ ਅਜਿਹੀਆਂ ਘਟਨਾਵਾਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਵਾਪਰਨੀਆਂ ਚਾਹੀਦੀਆਂ।
ਦੱਸਿਆ ਜਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਐਤਵਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਇਕ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਕਾਮਾਗਾਟਾਮਾਰੂ ਦੀ ਯਾਦਗਾਰ ’ਤੇ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਹਰ ਪਾਸੇ ਚਿੱਟੇ ਰੰਗ ਨਾਲ ਆਪਣੇ ਹੱਥਾਂ ਦੇ ਨਿਸ਼ਾਨ ਬਣਾਉਣ ਲੱਗਿਆ।

ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਬਰੱਸ਼ ਨਾਲ ਕਾਮਾਗਾਟਾਮਾਰੂ ਜਹਾਜ਼ ‘ਚ ਸਵਾਰ ਪੰਜਾਬੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਂ ’ਤੇ ਰੰਗ ਫੇਰਨਾ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਇੱਕ ਰਿਪੋਰਟ ਮੁਤਾਬਕ ਕਾਮਾਗਾਟਾਮਾਰੂ ਦੁਖਾਂਤ ਦੀ ਯਾਦਗਾਰ ’ਤੇ ਹਮਲਾ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਕਹਿ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਮੇਰਾ ਵੈਨਕੂਵਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ।
ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਇਲਾਵਾ ਹਰਜੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਸੱਜਣ ਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਜਸਟਿਨ ਟਰੂਡੋ ਨੇ ਵੀ ਇਸ ਘਟਨਾ ਦੀ ਨਿੰਦਾ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ।
