ਲਾਸ ਐਂਜਲਸ: ਅਮਰੀਕਾ ਦੇ ਦਿੱਗਜ ਬਾਸਕੇਟਬਾਲ ਖਿਡਾਰੀ ਕੋਬੀ ਬ੍ਰਾਇੰਟ (41) ਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ 13 ਸਾਲਾ ਧੀ ਸਣੇ ਹੈਲੀਕਾਪਟਰ ਹਾਦਸੇ ‘ਚ ਮੌਤ ਹੋ ਗਈ। ਇਹ ਹਾਦਸਾ ਅਮਰੀਕਾ ਦੇ ਕੈਲੀਫੋਰਨੀਆ ‘ਚ ਕੈਲਾਬੈਸਸ ਵਿਖੇ ਵਾਪਰਿਆ।
ਪੁਲਿਸ ਮੁਤਾਬਕ ਕੈਲਾਬੈਸਸ ‘ਚ ਕੋਬੀ ਬ੍ਰਾਇੰਟ ਦੇ ਇੱਕ ਨਿੱਜੀ ਹੈਲੀਕਾਪਟਰ ‘ਚ ਅੱਗ ਲੱਗ ਗਈ ਜਿਸ ਕਾਰਨ ਹੈਲੀਕਾਪਟਰ ਦਾ ਸੰਤੁਲਨ ਵਿਗੜ ਗਿਆ ਤੇ ਹੇਠਾਂ ਡਿੱਗ ਗਿਆ। ਹੈਲੀਕਾਪਟਰ ‘ਚ ਬ੍ਰਾਇੰਟ ਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਧੀ ਤੋਂ ਇਲਾਵਾ 7 ਹੋਰ ਲੋਕ ਸਵਾਰ ਸਨ ਜਿਸ ‘ਚ ਸਭ ਦੀ ਮੌਤ ਹੋ ਗਈ ਹੈ।
ਕੋਬੀ ਬ੍ਰਾਇੰਟ ਦਾ ਜਨਮ 23 ਅਗਸਤ 1978 ਨੂੰ ਅਮਰੀਕਾ ‘ਚ ਹੋਇਆ ਸੀ ਉਹ ਦੁਨੀਆ ਦੇ ਮਹਾਨ ਬਾਸਕੇਟਬਾਲ ਖਿਡਾਰੀਆਂ ‘ਚੋਂ ਇੱਕ ਸਨ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਮੌਤ ਨਾਲ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਸ਼ੰਸਕਾਂ ‘ਚ ਸੋਗ ਦੀ ਲਹਿਰ ਹੈ। ਆਪਣੇ 20 ਸਾਲਾਂ ਦੇ ਕੈਰੀਅਰ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਬ੍ਰਾਇੰਟ ਨੇ ਕਈ ਰਿਕਾਰਡ ਆਪਣੇ ਨਾਮ ਕੀਤੇ ਸਨ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ 18 ਵਾਰ ‘ਆਲ ਸਟਾਰ’ ਲਈ ਨਾਮਜ਼ਦ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ। 2016 ‘ਚ ਕੋਬੀ ਬ੍ਰਾਇੰਟ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਕਰੀਅਰ ਤੋਂ ਸੰਨਿਆਸ ਲੈ ਲਿਆ ਸੀ। 2008 ਤੇ 2012 ‘ਚ ਕੋਬੀ ਬ੍ਰਾਇੰਟ ਦੋ ਵਾਰ ਓਲੰਪਿਕ ਚੈਂਪੀਅਨ ਵੀ ਰਹੇ ਸਨ।
ਅਮਰੀਕੀ ਰਾਸ਼ਟਰਪਤੀ ਡੋਨਾਲਡ ਟਰੰਪ ਤੇ ਸਾਬਕਾ ਰਾਸ਼ਟਰਪਤੀ ਬਰਾਕ ਓਬਾਮਾ ਨੇ ਟਵੀਟ ਕਰ ਕੋਬੀ ਬ੍ਰਾਇੰਟ ਦੀ ਮੌਤ ‘ਤੇ ਸੋਗ ਪ੍ਰਗਟ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ।
