ਕੈਲਗਰੀ: ਕੈਨੇਡਾ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਕੈਲਗਰੀ ‘ਚ ਬੀਤੇ ਦਿਨੀਂ ਪਏ ਮੀਂਹ ਤੇ ਗੜੇਮਾਰੀ ਨੇ ਭਾਰੀ ਤਬਾਹੀ ਮਚਾ ਦਿੱਤੀ। ਇੱਥੇ ਟੈਨਿਸ ਗੇਂਦ ਦੇ ਆਕਾਰ ਦੇ ਗੜਿਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਇੰਨੀ ਜ਼ਬਰਦਸਤ ਗੜੇਮਾਰੀ ਹੋਈ ਕਿ ਘਰਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਛੱਤਾਂ, ਕੰਧਾਂ ਤੇ ਬਾਹਰ ਖੜੀਆਂ ਕਈ ਕਾਰਾਂ ਤੱਕ ਨੁਕਸਾਨੀਆਂ ਗਈਆਂ।
ਕੈਲਗਰੀ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਦਾ ਕਹਿਣਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਧ ਨੁਕਸਾਨ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਦੇ ਉੱਤਰ-ਪੂਰਬੀ ਖੇਤਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੋਇਆ। ਕੁਝ ਵੱਡੇ ਰੋਡਵੇਜ ਹਾਲੇ ਵੀ ਬੰਦ ਹਨ, ਪਰ ਜ਼ਿਆਦਾਤਰ ਰੋਡ ਸਾਫ਼ ਕਰ ਖੋਲ੍ਹ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਗਏ ਹਨ।
ਕੈਲਗਰੀ ‘ਚ ਇਕ ਘੰਟੇ ਵਿੱਚ 48.7 ਮਿਲੀਮੀਟਰ ਬਾਰਸ਼ ਦਰਜ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ ਇਸ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ ਗੜੇਮਾਰੀ ਵੀ ਹੋਈ ਜਿਸ ਦਾ ਆਕਾਰ ਟੈਨਿਸ-ਬਾਲ ਦੇ ਬਰਾਬਰ ਸੀ। ਮੀਂਹ ਨਾਲ ਥਾਂ-ਥਾਂ ਇੰਨਾ ਪਾਣੀ ਭਰ ਗਿਆ ਕਿ ਵਾਹਨ ਵੀ ਉਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਡੁੱਬ ਗਏ ਤੇ ਤੇਜ਼ ਹਵਾਵਾਂ ਕਾਰਨ ਦਰੱਖਤ ਡਿੱਗ ਗਏ।
