ਨਵੀਂ ਦਿੱਲੀ: ਭਾਰਤ ਦੇ ਸਾਬਕਾ ਮੁੱਕੇਬਾਜ਼ ਡਿੰਗਕੋ ਸਿੰਘ ਦਾ 42 ਸਾਲ ਦੀ ਉਮਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਦਿਹਾਂਤ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ। ਡਿੰਗਕੋ 2017 ਤੋਂ ਲੀਵਰ ਦੇ ਕੈਂਸਰ ਨਾਲ ਲੜ ਰਹੇ ਸਨ।ਉਹ ਪਿਛਲੇ ਕੁੱਝ ਸਮੇਂ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਮਾਰ ਚੱਲ ਰਹੇ ਸਨ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਦਿਹਾਂਤ ‘ਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਮੋਦੀ ਤੇ ਕੇਂਦਰੀ ਖੇਡ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਕਿਰਨ ਰਿਜਜੂ ਨੇ ਟਵੀਟ ਕਰਕੇ ਦੁੱਖ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਗਟਾਵਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ।

ਖੇਡ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਕਿਰਨ ਰਿਜਜੂ ਨੇ ਟਵੀਟ ਕਰ ਲਿਖਿਆ, ‘ਮੈਂ ਡਿੰਗਕੋ ਸਿੰਘ ਦੀ ਮੌਤ ਤੋਂ ਬਹੁਤ ਦੁਖੀ ਹਾਂ। ਉਹ ਭਾਰਤ ਦੇ ਹੁਣ ਤੱਕ ਦੇ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਹਤਰੀਨ ਮੁੱਕੇਬਾਜ਼ਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਇੱਕ ਸਨ। ਡਿੰਗਕੋ ਦੇ 1998 ਵਿੱਚ ਏਸ਼ੀਆਈ ਖੇਡਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੋਨ ਤਗਮਾ ਜਿੱਤਣ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਮੁੱਕੇਬਾਜ਼ੀ ਬਾਰੇ ਇੱਕ ਲਹਿਰ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੋਈ। ਮੈਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਸੰਵੇਦਨਾਵਾਂ ਭੇਜਦਾ ਹਾਂ। ਡਿੰਗਕੋ ਦੀ ਰੂਹ ਨੂੰ ਸ਼ਾਂਤੀ ਮਿਲੇ।”
