ਸਲੋਕ ਮਃ ੩ ॥ ਦਰਵੇਸੀ ਕੋ ਜਾਣਸੀ ਵਿਰਲਾ ਕੋ ਦਰਵੇਸੁ ॥ ਜੇ ਘਰਿ ਘਰਿ ਹੰਢੈ ਮੰਗਦਾ ਧਿਗੁ ਜੀਵਣੁ ਧਿਗੁ ਵੇਸੁ ॥ ਜੇ ਆਸਾ ਅੰਦੇਸਾ ਤਜਿ ਰਹੈ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਭਿਖਿਆ ਨਾਉ ॥ ਤਿਸ ਕੇ ਚਰਨ ਪਖਾਲੀਅਹਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਹਉ ਬਲਿਹਾਰੈ ਜਾਉ ॥੧॥ ਮਃ ੩ ॥ ਨਾਨਕ ਤਰਵਰੁ ਏਕੁ ਫਲੁ ਦੁਇ ਪੰਖੇਰੂ ਆਹਿ ॥ ਆਵਤ ਜਾਤ ਨ ਦੀਸਹੀ ਨਾ ਪਰ ਪੰਖੀ ਤਾਹਿ ॥ ਬਹੁ ਰੰਗੀ ਰਸ ਭੋਗਿਆ ਸਬਦਿ ਰਹੈ ਨਿਰਬਾਣੁ ॥ ਹਰਿ ਰਸਿ ਫਲਿ ਰਾਤੇ ਨਾਨਕਾ ਕਰਮਿ ਸਚਾ ਨੀਸਾਣੁ ॥੨॥ਪਉੜੀ ॥ ਆਪੇ ਧਰਤੀ ਆਪੇ ਹੈ ਰਾਹਕੁ ਆਪਿ ਜੰਮਾਇ ਪੀਸਾਵੈ ॥ ਆਪਿ ਪਕਾਵੈ ਆਪਿ ਭਾਂਡੇ ਦੇਇ ਪਰੋਸੈ ਆਪੇ ਹੀ ਬਹਿ ਖਾਵੈ ॥ ਆਪੇ ਜਲੁ ਆਪੇ ਦੇ ਛਿੰਗਾ ਆਪੇ ਚੁਲੀ ਭਰਾਵੈ ॥ ਆਪੇ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਸਦਿ ਬਹਾਲੈ ਆਪੇ ਵਿਦਾ ਕਰਾਵੈ ॥ ਜਿਸ ਨੋ ਕਿਰਪਾਲੁ ਹੋਵੈ ਹਰਿ ਆਪੇ ਤਿਸ ਨੋ ਹੁਕਮੁ ਮਨਾਵੈ ॥੬॥ (ਅੰਗ: 550)
ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਵਿਆਖਿਆ:
ਕੋਈ ਵਿਰਲਾ ਫ਼ਕੀਰ ਫ਼ਕੀਰੀ (ਦੇ ਆਦਰਸ਼) ਨੂੰ ਸਮਝਦਾ ਹੈ, (ਫ਼ਕੀਰ ਹੋ ਕੇ) ਜੇ ਘਰ ਘਰ ਮੰਗਦਾ ਫਿਰੇ, ਤਾਂ ਉਹਦੇ ਜੀਊਣ ਨੂੰ ਫਿਟਕਾਰ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ (ਫ਼ਕੀਰੀ-) ਜਾਮੇ ਨੂੰ ਫਿਟਕਾਰ ਹੈ।ਜੇ (ਦਰਵੇਸ਼ ਹੋ ਕੇ) ਆਸਾ ਤੇ ਚਿੰਤਾ ਨੂੰ ਛੱਡ ਦੇਵੇ ਤੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸਨਮੁਖ ਰਹਿ ਕੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਭਿਖਿਆ ਮੰਗੇ, ਤਾਂ, ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਤੋਂ ਸਦਕੇ ਹਾਂ, ਉਸ ਦੇ ਚਰਨ ਧੋਣੇ ਚਾਹੀਦੇ ਹਨ।੧।ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਸੰਸਾਰ ਰੂਪ) ਰੁੱਖ (ਹੈ, ਇਸ) ਨੂੰ (ਮਾਇਆ ਦਾ ਮੋਹ ਰੂਪ) ਇਕ ਫਲ (ਲੱਗਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ) , (ਉਸ ਰੁੱਖ ਉਤੇ) ਦੋ (ਕਿਸਮ ਦੇ, ਗੁਰਮੁਖ ਤੇ ਮਨਮੁਖ) ਪੰਛੀ ਹਨ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਪੰਛੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਖੰਭ ਨਹੀਂ ਹਨ ਤੇ ਉਹ ਆਉਂਦੇ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਦਿੱਸਦੇ ਨਹੀਂ, (ਭਾਵ, ਇਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਪਤਾ ਲੱਗਦਾ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਜੀਵ-ਪੰਛੀ ਕਿਧਰੋਂ ਆਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ ਤੇ ਕਿਧਰ ਚਲੇ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ) ਬਹੁਤੇ ਰੰਗਾਂ (ਵਿਚ ਸੁਆਦ ਲੈਣ) ਵਾਲੇ ਨੇ ਰਸਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਚੱਖਿਆ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਨਿਰ-ਚਾਹ (ਪੰਛੀ) ਸ਼ਬਦ ਵਿਚ (ਲੀਨ) ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਹਰੀ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ (ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਮੱਥੇ ਤੇ) ਸੱਚਾ ਟਿੱਕਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਨਾਮ ਦੇ ਰਸ (ਰੂਪ) ਫਲ (ਦੇ ਸੁਆਦ) ਵਿਚ ਮਸਤ ਹਨ।੨। ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਭੁਇਂ ਹੈ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਵਾਹੁਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ, ਆਪ ਹੀ (ਅੰਨ) ਉਗਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਪਿਹਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਆਪੇ ਹੀ ਪਕਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਭਾਂਡੇ ਦੇ ਕੇ ਵਰਤਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਬਹਿ ਕੇ ਖਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਆਪ ਹੀ ਜਲ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਛਿੰਗਾ ਭੀ ਆਪ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਚੁਲੀ ਕਰਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ।ਹਰੀ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਨੂੰ ਸੱਦ ਕੇ ਬਿਠਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਵਿਦਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਜਿਸ ਉਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਦਇਆਲ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੀ ਰਜ਼ਾ (ਮਿੱਠੀ ਕਰ ਕੇ) ਮਨਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।੬।
English Translation:
SHALOK, THIRD MEHL:
How rare is the dervish, the Saintly renunciate, who understands renunciation. Cursed is the
life, and cursed are the clothes, of one who wanders around, begging from door to door. But
if he gives up hope and anxiety and becomes Gurmukh, and takes the Name as his charity,
then Nanak washes his feet; I am a sacrifice to him. || 1 || THIRD MEHL: O Nanak, the
tree has one fruit, but two birds are perched upon it. They are not seen coming or going;
these birds have no wings. The soul enjoys all sorts of pleasures; through the Word of the
Shabad, it remains in Nirvaanaa. Imbued with the subtle essence of the fruit of the Lord’s
Name, O Nanak, it bears the True Insignia of God’s Grace. || 2 || PAUREE: He Himself is
the field, and He Himself is the farmer. He Himself grows and grinds the grain. He Himself
cooks it, He Himself puts the food in the dishes, and He Himself sits down to eat. He
Himself is the water, He Himself gives the tooth-pick, and He Himself offers the
mouthwash. He Himself calls and seats the congregation, and He Himself bids them
goodbye. One whom the Lord Himself blesses with His Mercy — the Lord inspires him to
obey the Hukam of His Command. || 6 ||
