ਮਾਂਟਰੀਅਲ/ ਯੇਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ : ਉੱਤਰੀ ਇਜ਼ਰਾਈਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਇੱਕ ਧਾਰਮਿਕ ਤਿਉਹਾਰ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਭਗਦੜ ਵਿੱਚ ਮਾਰੇ ਗਏ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਦੋ ਕੈਨੇਡਾ ਦੇ ਮਾਂਟਰੀਅਲ ਨਿਵਾਸੀ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਸਨ, ਜਿਸ ਨਾਲ ਸਥਾਨਕ ਭਾਈਚਾਰੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੋਗ ਦੀ ਸਥਿਤੀ ਬਣੀ ਹੋਈ ਸੀ। ਇਹ ਘਟਨਾ ਸ਼ੁੱਕਰਵਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਇਜ਼ਰਾਈਲ ਦੇ ਮੇਰਨ ਮਾਉਂਟਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਇੱਕ ਲਾੱਗ ਬਾਓਮਰ ਸਮਾਗਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਾਪਰੀ ਜਿਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਹਜ਼ਾਰਾਂ ਅਤਿ-ਕੱਟੜਪੰਥੀ ਯਹੂਦੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਸ਼ਿਰਕਤ ਕੀਤੀ। ਇਸ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਵਾਪਰੇ ਹਾਦਸੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਘੱਟੋ ਘੱਟ 45 ਲੋਕ ਮਾਰੇ ਗਏ ਅਤੇ ਲਗਭਗ 150 ਜ਼ਖਮੀ ਹੋਏ ।
ਕੈਨੇਡਾ-ਯੂਆਈਏ ਦੇ ਯਹੂਦੀ ਫੈਡਰੇਸ਼ਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਅਤੇ ਸੀਈਓ ਨਿੱਕੀ ਹੌਲੈਂਡ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਇਜ਼ਰਾਈਲ ਦੇ ਮਾਉਂਟ ਮੇਰਨ ਵਿਖੇ ਹੋਈ ਮੌਤ ਦੇ ਦੁਖਦਾਈ ਨੁਕਸਾਨ ਤੋਂ ਅਸੀਂ ਹੈਰਾਨ ਅਤੇ ਦੁਖੀ ਹਾਂ। ਸਾਡੇ ਦਿਲ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰੇ ਪਰਿਵਾਰਾਂ ਲਈ ਟੁੱਟ ਗਏ ਹਨ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਅਜ਼ੀਜ਼ਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਗਵਾ ਲਿਆ – ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਘੱਟੋ ਘੱਟ ਤਿੰਨ ਕੈਨੇਡੀਅਨ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਹਨ – ਅਤੇ ਅਸੀਂ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰੇ ਜ਼ਖਮੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਜਲਦੀ ਸਿਹਤਯਾਬੀ ਲਈ ਪ੍ਰਾਰਥਨਾ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਾਂ ।”
